An extension of your engineering team

Who We Are

Our engineers have worked with OEMs of all sizes, helped design the products themselves, and can integrate them and customize them quickly.

All of our infotainment, power distribution, and wire harnesses are manufactured in the USA for the highest possible quality, from the PCBA up.

Jardum was founded in 2016 by Jared Tabb and John Purdum in Owasso, OK, USA. Jared and John worked together as engineering directors at Enovation Controls and saw the need for vehicle systems for smaller OEMs and consumers alike.  Jardum is a company of engineers who enjoy working on solving complex problems in applications we find fun.

Our team has carefully expanded to include engineers with knowledge in software, hardware, and vehicle systems as well as support staff in graphic designs, hands on techs, and office management.

Core Values

  • Creating Products so Cool They Sell Themselves

Our marketing goal is not to convince our customers that they need our product. Our goal is to show them how cool our products are and let the products do the sales. Technology misapplied can worsen the human machine experience.  Our goal is not to sell whatever we can but to sell the right system to improve and add real value for the customer.

Nothing can truly sell itself. You have to get the word out there. We want our product's value to be self-evident, not something that needs a slick sales pitch.

  • Engineering for Fun and Profit

We are passionate about solving problems with electronics and software. Our best customers are passionate about their fields. We usually do not do well with customers who are just concerned about making a buck or clocking in to 9 to 5. Those guys suck life out of us and eventually we will fire them or them us.

A customer with drive feeds our drive and together we can tackle complex problems. Completing those projects are fun and give an awesome sense of accomplishment.

  • Give-A-Crap

We use our small size to our advantage which allows us to be nimble and responsive. Most companies we work with aren’t big enough to have a dedicated electronics staff. Instead, we fill that gap and embed ourselves in your team.

Big companies come with bureaucracy that slow everything down, committees instead of decision makers, and AP departments focused on cash flow not positive vendor-client relationships. With small companies, the owner is the decision maker and gives you his cell phone. He may text you in the middle of the night on a Tuesday. But that street goes both ways. He’s available when you need a decision to move forward or need someone to cut a check on a past due invoice. We respond like we care, because by now, we’re emotionally committed, and we really do care.  We want to have a GAC factor in everything we do.

We hire people who take Ownership in their work, not heroes and martyrs. Martyrs kill themselves to make sure something gets done and heroes swoop in to save the day. Neither is sustainable. Instead we hire people who care and step up no matter if the challenge is above or below their “pay grade.”

  • Small Teams

Each industry we play in has established behemoths with system integrator solutions. One of our biggest differentiators is our scrappiness. We take real interest in solving the problem and find solutions quickly. Since we are small, we’re able to communicate internally and make decisions fast. That allows us to innovate faster than the big guys. As we scale we intend on maximizing profitability per employee and growth without adding layers of management, following the path of companies like Basecamp, Gore & Associates, and Valve.

  • Make the world better

Working on technology that moves humanity forward or makes life better is awesome and a reward in and of itself. Making products that raise the cool factor or improve user experience in an existing technology is also rewarding. As a general rule, we don’t work on projects that can be used to kill people, spy on people, or make the world worse off.

  • Flexibility and Trust

Jardum needs flexibility and trust from their employees. This means travel and occasional odd hour calls and emails. We trust you to make decisions in the best interest of the company.

We reciprocate by giving flexibility and trust in how and when our employees perform the majority of their work.

  • Collaboration > Competition

Sometimes it’s David vs Goliath. Sometimes you have the cross-town rivalry. But more often than not, it’s better to collaborate than to compete. By collaborating with a big company we can help them be nimble and we can leverage their resources. Working with other small companies with complementary skill sets means we can do more together than on our own while still maintaining our independence.

Business does not have to be war.
